I've got my hands on a book I've been wanting for a long time--Stephen King's Carrie. It's his first book and it is great. I'm about three-quarters of the way through, and I can see why he made over $200,000 from it off the bat. It's different compared to anything else that's going on, and probably very different from what was going on in 1974.
And the bonus about it is it makes me want to write. Yup, there's special books out there that are motivators. King has always had that effect on me. John D. MacDonald is another. Sometimes Stephen Hunter, even though he's been slacking lately.
Anyways, I'm going to get back to reading.
